Forbearance for those impacted by COVID-19
With so many borrowers under financial duress during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Education and many private student lenders have rolled out additional forbearance options allowing for a pause in payments. There may even be the opportunity to have your interest waived during this period. Learn more about what options may be available by listening to this recording.
Federal Student Loan Repayment
Borrowers with Federal student loans have a wide variety of repayment options at their disposal. From income-driven repayment to Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), there may be significant savings opportunities available through these programs. As there is a good deal of nuance amongst the various programs, borrowers should be prepared to do their own research on which offering is the ideal fit for them. Learn more about what options may be available by listening to this recording.
Student Loan Repayment During Uncertain Times
In this webcast, Laurel Road will share more information on the federal response to student loans during the COVID-19 crisis, considerations in your decision to refinance, and all available student loan repayment options. This webinar will cover: the CARES Act Update, Federal Loan Repayment Options, and Student Loan Refinancing.
Student Loan Refinancing
Those who are most interested in paying back their student loans as economically as possible – with as little interest as possible – often look to refinance their loans after graduation. Private lenders are often able to offer rates a good deal lower than what borrowers have on their existing loans. Locking in these lower rates can lead to significant savings over the life of the loan. Learn more about student loan refinancing by listening to this recording.

Let’s Review a COVID-19 Impact Checklist: Considering Possible Implications on Student Performance
COVID-19 has turned our worlds upside down, forcing us to a new normal. As many adults try to deal with the realities of death, job loss, decreased income, social distancing, virtual instruction, and heightened stress, the negative impact of such stressors are likely to impact children as well. Consequently, it is important evaluators examine and document such stressors for every child being assessed or considered for referral. The presenter will provide a brief review of the COVID-19 Impact Checklist and student, teacher, and parent questionnaires. Resources will be highlighted.

What’s new to the Battelle® Developmental Inventory™ Third Edition and How Can it Help My Practice?
As a child ages, they typically attain critical skills and behaviors sequentially from simple to complex. The Battelle® Developmental Inventory, Third Edition™ (BDI-3) measures mastery of developmental milestones in five global domains: Communication, Social Emotional, Adaptive, Motor, & Cognitive. Assessment of developmental strengths and needs is critical for early development centers, private clinicians, schools, and others seeking to determine the need for educational resources or interventions and build plans accordingly. This session will focus on the use of the new, completely re-designed BDI-3, and key features such as: new items, updated content aligned to the most recent developmental milestones, and an enhanced mobile scoring application with online and offline administration options.
Client Termination from Practice
This interactive discussion will address best practices when terminating a client from the practice or transferring care to another provider while avoiding the potential for a claim of abandonment. We anticipate questions/discussion on client communication/notification, referrals to a new provider, documentation in the client’s record, and responding to requests for records.
Custody Issues When Treating Minors
This presentation will focus on best practices related to caring for a minor of divorced parents, including review of the custody agreement related to authorization to make treatment decisions, parent disagreement over treatment, and requests for release of information to the parents. We anticipate discussion/questions on the challenges of remaining objective and advocating for the minor client, especially when dealing with custody battles and working with a guardian ad litem.
Subpoenas
This interactive presentation will focus on what a subpoena is, why a subpoena is sent, and what to do when a subpoena is received, whether for records or for a deposition. Through the discussion/questions we hope to reduce the anxiety about subpoenas and provide best practices when psychotherapy notes are requested, obtaining client consent, and ensuring notification of your professional liability coverage insurance carrier.
